Terms of use

Last updated 5 November 2026

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and One Tari Technologies Ltd ("schoolhouse"). By creating an account or using the schoolhouse app or website you agree to them and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use schoolhouse.

Who can use schoolhouse

You must be 18 or older. schoolhouse is for proprietors, school staff and parents or guardians. Children do not have accounts. You must give true information, keep your password, money PIN and codes private, and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.

Schools

A proprietor who registers a school confirms they have the authority to do so and that the school's CAC details are genuine. The school decides who joins, what is published and how its records are kept, and is responsible for what its staff publish. A school must have a lawful basis to record pupils' information and must use schoolhouse in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

How everyone must behave

You must not:

  • harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content;
  • post or share any content that sexualises or endangers a child (see our child safety standards; we report it to the authorities);
  • share another family's information, or a child's information, outside the purpose it was shared for;
  • try to get into accounts, data or parts of the app you are not allowed to use, or disrupt the service;
  • use schoolhouse for fraud, spam or unrelated advertising.

Anyone can report content or a member in the app. Schools and schoolhouse may remove content, mute or remove members, and suspend accounts that break these rules.

School fees

School fees are paid directly to the school's bank account. schoolhouse is not a party to the fee agreement between a school and a parent and does not hold fee money. The app records invoices, receipts the parent uploads and the school's confirmation. If there is a disagreement, the in-app dispute tool helps the school and parent resolve it, and schoolhouse may step in to review the records.

Price and payments

schoolhouse is free for schools, school staff, teachers and parents. There is no app subscription. Online payments inside the app, such as marketplace orders and gifts, are processed by Paystack, which may add its own charge, shown before you pay. Money a school or teacher receives in their schoolhouse wallet can be withdrawn to their own bank account; withdrawals need the money PIN and may be delayed for security checks.

Marketplace and gifts

Schools may sell items such as uniforms and books through the marketplace. The seller is responsible for the item and its delivery. Where a school allows it, parents may send small gifts to teachers; gifts are voluntary and are not payment for grades or favours.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give schoolhouse permission to store, display and transmit it to the people it is meant for, only to provide the service. You must have the right to post it.

Our app

The schoolhouse name, logo, app and website belong to us and are protected by Nigerian intellectual property law. Do not copy, resell or reverse-engineer them.

Suspending and closing accounts

You can stop using schoolhouse and ask us to delete your account at any time (how). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law or someone's safety prevents it. You can appeal by emailing support.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep schoolhouse available and accurate, but we provide it "as is". To the extent Nigerian law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by a school's or member's own content or decisions. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Nigerian consumer law.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will show the date of the latest version and ask you to accept important changes in the app. Continuing to use schoolhouse after that means you accept them.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Please contact us first at hello@loveschoolhouse.com so we can try to resolve a problem; otherwise disputes go to the courts of Nigeria.
